Former First Lady Melania Trump made a surprise announcement Friday on X, revealing the launch of her new production company, Muse Films, and confirming that her upcoming feature film “Melania” will hit theaters worldwide on January 30, 2026. The project is backed by Amazon MGM Studios and directed by Brett Ratner, Newsmax reported.
The film promises a rare inside look at Melania Trump’s life, with a special focus on the twenty days leading up to President Trump’s 2025 inauguration. Described as a deeply personal, first-person account, the movie blends her private world, family responsibilities, and public duties during one of the most high-pressure periods of her life.
Amazon MGM confirmed the movie will stream on Amazon Prime Video after its theatrical run.
Last month the studio teased the project on X.
“Step into Melania Trump’s world as she manages inauguration plans, handles the challenges of the White House transition, and reenters public life with her family,” Amazon MGM wrote.
The film reportedly features exclusive footage from private meetings, personal conversations, and locations never shown to the public. According to Amazon MGM, “MELANIA showcases her return to one of the world’s most influential roles.”
Alongside the feature film, Amazon has also approved a three-part docuseries that will expand further on Melania’s story and follow her activities in New York City, Washington D.C., and Palm Beach.
Friday’s announcement marks the official placement of the film under her new production banner, positioning Melania Trump not only as First Lady but also as a media producer with creative authority. She serves as an executive producer, shaping the project’s narrative and direction.
Director Brett Ratner, best known for the “Rush Hour” series and “X-Men: The Last Stand,” is returning to major studio filmmaking with this project. “Melania” is his first large-scale film since 2017. His comeback follows years of industry distance after misconduct allegations during the #MeToo movement.
Earlier this year, Amazon Prime secured exclusive global rights to a separate documentary on Melania Trump. Fox News Digital confirmed that the documentary will provide an unprecedented behind-the-scenes look at her life. Filming began in December 2024, with Melania and Fernando Sulichin of New Element Media serving as executive producers, and Ratner directing through RatPac Entertainment.
Prime Video will release more details as production continues.
“We are excited to share this truly unique story with millions of viewers around the world,” Amazon said in a statement.
The announcement comes just weeks before Melania Trump returns to the White House as First Lady.
It also follows the massive success of her memoir “Melania,” which includes personal stories and family photographs never before released to the public. The book quickly climbed to the top of the New York Times best-seller list.
In November, shortly after President Trump secured victory as the 47th President, Melania launched a digital photography series highlighting moments from the 2024 campaign and her daily life.
In a Fox News Digital interview last year, Melania said that if she returned as First Lady on January 20, 2025, her focus would remain on supporting the well-being and development of children across the nation.
“My priority is creating a safe and nurturing environment where children can grow, learn, and thrive,” she said.
